Off-site Monument End Date Engraving
Niche Stone Engraving
Driveway Rock Engraving

Mobile Sandblast Engraving

Monumental Engraving serves the Grand Traverse area in Northern Michigan with your needs for engraving of cemetery monuments, columbaria niche face stones, driveway rocks, and more.
Monumental Engraving is dedicated to date of death inscriptions (also referred to as a final date and end date) and other inscriptions on a monument that is already in the cemetery. While most monument stones are engraved in their shops before being placed in a cemetery, the process of additional engraving is usually done at the cemetery. This requires portable sandblasting to engrave on-location. Columbaria niche front face stones also require the engraving to be done at the cemetery. The nature of these additional dates and inscriptions is to match the original engraved font, depth, size, and color as closely as possible.
Fieldstones (driveway stones/rocks) are typically engraved at your residence or business location. The weight of transporting the rock to a monument company for engraving is cost prohibitive or not possible. I will work with you to design and make your engraving details a reality. Not all rocks are suitable for engraving, so photos and an on-site inspection are first required. Street address numbers are the most common inscriptions for fieldstones.
I have worked in cemetery management and care for over a decade and, am a member of the Catholic Cemetery Conference. Know that the utmost respect to your needs is my priority. Monumental Engraving also works with your Funeral Director, church, and cemetery to meet your needs.
Feel free to contact me via email with questions and a quote. You may also complete a Work Order form.

Monumental Engraving

How is it done?

Portable sandblasting is the process used by Monumental Engraving to meet your needs. Sandblasting is the process of creating a protective mask, then using an air compressor and silica-based media to carve the unprotected areas of a stone. This results in the engraving of the stone while leaving the rest of the stone protected.
